3 Foot Tall Ant Nest with Foraging Area- Authentic Natural Simulation

Did you enjoy catching ants a a child? Still a child? Want the ultimate setup with a complete natural simulation of a real environment? Tired of Uncle Sam's Ant farm's with limited possiblities? Want a colony in the 10's of thousands, not a couple of hundred?

Join the craze that is flooding Europe! Construct the ultimate Ant formicarium at home in just a weekend.

This instructable will guide you through the process of creating an Ant nest from Ytong and an attached foraging area.
Unlike many formicarium setups this unit is almost identical to what may be found in the wild.
The foraging area is located at the top of the ant nest, simulating a real world environment as closley as possible.

Your ants will not only move in quickly, they will also thrive due to the enclosures natural characteristics.

This formicarium comes complete with an automated irrigation system for the Ytong nest, it also has active humidity/temperature read outs via a wireless connection to a LCD screen on the reciever unit.

iSteadii 2.0 - Image Stabilizing Unit

Here's another Instructable, this time on a simple cheap stabilizer for a compact or dslr camera I made/designed.

It has 67,000 views, so obviously hit a note.

I would like to introduce to you, the iSteadii .
Its task is to act as an adequate stabilisation unit, for a Compact point and shoot or a DSLR camera.
The principal is based on a floating buoy. The mass of the camera is equalised by the
counter-weight, which is self locating. Therefore deadening fluctuations of movement.

Camera lenses today, come with options such as image stabilisation. Not only are these lens expensive, compared to their counters, they are not always the best bang for your buck.
This little unit should only set you back a few dollars, that's if you don't have the parts already laying around your house.

There is an iSteadii 1.0, yet this is a vaste improvement on that design. It deserves its own I'ble, which it may get at a later date.

Last Minute Laceration

This I'ble will show you how to create wound FX, at home on the cheap. With only a few items from around the average home, we shall try to accomplish some authentic looking last minute effects for our Halloween ensemble.

This was created in under 45min, done 1 handed obviously. That includes picture time also.

This was applied on my forearm, although I have used this method to do a full chest wound also. The technique can be used to achieve, many types of wounds.

Here's my instructions.
